Myth and Fission

Myth and Fission exists purely in a virtual space until they are desired into existence. The Myth and Fission Series speaks of disconnection, excitement, hyper-speed of the hypermodern, empty spectacle, and alienation. In fact, in the world of Myth and Fission all sense of "special" time is thrown away. Objects cease to exist except as registers of light and motion. Time itself is thrown away - everything happens at once. The works of Myth and Fission are images derived from a digital video camera that was often handheld or duct-taped to the headrest of a car as it sped through the streets and tunnels of San Francisco and other cities. The video was then layered several times and heavily processed in Final Cut Pro. Frames were selected and then exposed to more processing for inclusion in the series.
