The audio section is working.

It’s still uneven and wonky – CSS sucks – but I’m doing what I can to fix it.

Imaging also has a lot of fixes in it, but there are more to come…

More work done

General, My Life, Technology

Today we went north and hurtled down a snow covered hill. Fun. I also worked on some of the pages for this site. It’s coming along, SLOWLY.

I now officially hate CSS. There is no reason why it couldn’t be handled like Illustrator or (the long lost and sadly missed) FreeHand. But, no. Why? Because it was designed to keep people away from web development, and if it was too easy, it was destroy the wages of CSS developers.

Bah. humbug.

Tomorrow I prep for the quiz on Tuesday, and go to a curriculum committee meeting. Yay.

Now Playing: Calvary Cross by Richard Thompson.

Older Blogs

General

What I’m going to do with my older blogs is basically re-publish them here into this blog. This will create a bit of duplication for the interweb, but it will allow you, my readers, to have immediate access to my other blogs. Onward.

Progress

General

So, I spent the other half of this afternoon developing the CSS for this website. Moving everything over from the old website (kether.com) blew everything to bits – it was an odd mishmash of code and coding styles going back to the mid 1990s. Pretty much spaghetti at this point – some of it has absolute links, others are relative. A lot of the type uses deprecated HTML, everything is in tables, and the stuff that doesn’t use archaic HTML has CSS that’s all broken. Fixing this will take a while…

But I am finally feeling hopeful about this website. Getting this blogging part working again was the Big Step. Sigh.

This Yahoo Blog System Sucks

General

It uses wordPress, but badly. It’s very clunky. sigh. When I get the time to fix it, I will.

Right now: I finished posting grades. Yay.

Tomorrow: I will sleep.

Near Future:
1. wire up the old site to this new site.
2. Compress videos for ZeroC for youtube.
3. Develop CSS for new site – everything is all over the map right now, and it needs a more unified appearance, especially in type handling.

Recent Accomplishments:

1. I finished the “X” series. I hope to publish them as a series of books soon.
2. I got the SOTA Comet turntable up and working. I’ve been treating my ears to the glories of VINYL. And there was much rejoicing.
3. I learned how to use ArcGIS today. It’s VERY cool geographic software that will help me make maps for my latest storytelling adventure.
4. Worked on a font based on the logo for Ryerson University. It came out like poo. Need to redo it. No big deal. Once the design is done, then the real work starts (sidebearings, kerning tables, hinting… I HATE hinting. Such drudgery…)

I’m busy.
